Inherited an 04 FXDP had 35K on it no maintenance history i've put another grand on it and looking for any and all guidance and suggestions. Since she already has been stripped of most FXDP specific stuff i'm gonna make her into a west coast style dyna, I fell in love with the style while stationed at Camp Pendleton.
She's been lowered so I plan on getting higher shocks for the rear but can anyone tell if the front has been modified at all?
Maintenance wise she got a primary oil change, new plugs, brake bleed and a new rear tire. Anything else I should inspect/get checked out?
Congrats on the new ride.
Why change the primary fluid and not the motor or trans?
I'd put on a new fuel filter, inspect the primary and cam tensioners and check every single fastener on the bike.
Hard to tell about the front end without pics.
It does look like the front end has been lowered as well IMO. Most likely just a lowering spring kit. Best thing you could do when you do the shocks is upgrade the springs in the front end as well - hard to beat the racetech spring and gold valve emulators for the money from what I've heard.
Congrats on the new ride! Hold onto those floorboards, those look like OE items.
