Please keep in mind that I have only 1800 miles on this bike and it nine when I bought. I can’t believe that these parts can break down so fast. The service Mgr. told me that this is the thirdbike that needed this rework. I just thought I would let you guys know.
You bet!, but I had to give them hell to get it done in a timely fashion. I've been riding for 20 yearsand this is my5th bike, soI know it was not a userera typeproblem. It's really a shame; I wish I knew what causedthis.
I think your bike got soft from the luxurious accomodations you've prepared for him. Wall to wall carpeting, central heat and air, and a fireplace. You spoiled him rotten!
Yes, as well as the clutch. I noticed about 2 months ago that upon start-up, there was a wistling sound for a minute on the primary side;a fast zipping noise, if you will. Next came the starter. Upon start-up, the bindex gear would not seat with the fly-wheel. It was not a pretty sound; it made the same sound that a car makes when you try to start it, when already running. Not that I have ever dont this, but I know people that have[sm=badidea.gif].
Thanks for the info! My starter sounds kinda crappy sometimes and
theprimary sounds like a gear drive on a small block chev I had once.
I notice it more when I ride my FLHPI...no noise at all.
