Regarding the Midwest/NE, both he and Hillside in NY came with impeccable reviews for both work and tuning. Both on this site and over on HTT where I had seen lots of his work and dyno charts. Both are approx 500 miles from me. Basically, it boiled down to the fact that I was headed to AL to visit my mom for Christmas and he was only about an hour out of the way. So, I dropped my bike off on the way down and then picked it up in January. Also, being with GM I do some work with Ft Wayne Asm plant so I could couple the trip to pick up with that.
