Had commander II's on my K1200GT. Was happy with them Was giving thoughts to going with either the commander II's or Dragons when I change out my tires,
I have a pair of Michelin Scorcher 31's on my Low Rider, but with only 6,600 miles on them, they are down to 2/32". I'll be replacing them with a set of Dunlop American Elites, which is what I used on my previous bike with good success. Incidentally, there's a $40 rebate on Dunlops through April.
When I bought my first used EG it had a bald tire, and I had a HD tire (Dunlop?) put on it. I didn't get much mileage out of it, but I'm sure HD and Dunlop could care less about that. In fact it just means more money for them. The next rear tire was a Commander II. It far outperformed the HD tire in terms of mileage. It doesn't say Harley Davidson on the tire but so what? HD is giving me the money to buy tires with. I could understand the difference in money put out if there was a legit safety issue, but I didn't have one between the Dunlop vs Michelin over many thousands of miles, and in varying road conditions, including ice, water, gravel roads, dirt roads, interstates. I didn't notice a difference in the rain but I usually ride more carefully in the rain anyway, particularly if the rain just started. Unless there's a good reason not to do it, it's going to be Michelin tires from now on, both with my EG and Sportster.
So i ended up getting the commander II's. I do alot of highway straight riding so it seemed like the best choice. It was an issue getting them. Fed ex gave tgem to cycle gear so it was a delay but they r on now! I was wondering what the recommended psi is for the front and rear on a '17 fxdb dyna street bob?
The guy who put on my tires put it too 40 psi in the front and 30 psi in the back! Now that doesnt seem right. I just checked it today so i rode like that for about 30 miles.
So i contacted revzilla, where i got them from, and they said its always recommended to do factory harley psi regardless the tire brand. So 30 front and 40 back. So what tire pressure should i run? I know this anser will prob vary too lol
Go with manual . From there you can adjust to your liking. I prefer to run them a few psi lower than factory. That's just a habit of mine since I race sport bikes and I dont care about tire life and will opt for a slightly larger contact patch of rubber.
