so today i was going to take the bike to work. But my front tire was flat! Its been over a werk or 2 i have ridden it. So idk if it just sitting there would deflat if that much but i aired it up and left it home. Ill check it tomorrow. But im pretty sure it has a nail. I could see a little spec of metal like in the tire so im sure its done.
Ive looked around for the best tires to run but i figured id ask on here. Some updated answers perhaps. Whats concidered good in this new year? From what ive looked up commander 2's seem to be pretty decent. Where is the best place to purchase tires too? And is it ok too run one new tire up front and leave the old one in the back? Its the oem stock tire. It still has some life in it. My bike has 8,000 something miles on it.
i ride all year around. Rain too. I ride mostly straight roads. But sometimes ill take it up in the mountains but not so often anymore. Mostly use it to commute to work. To busy w family life.

Metzler 880 or 888 are my are my favorites. I've used them quite a few times. I tried the Michelin Commander II's and ended up changing them out after only 4,000 miles. They were the worst handling tires I ever had. They get a lot of love around here, though. Maybe I got a bad set.
I put ME888's on mine last summer, when I got it. I've had 3 bikes with those Dunlop front tires like Harley uses (404?) are the pits. They'll follow every little crack in the road.

I have been running commander II's since original scorchers wore out, ran the 1st rear commander for almost 18K and I am not always light on the throttle, on front have almost 20k on the commander and still has life left.. sounds like you may have other issues with getting that little mileage. also do not notice any handling issues.
