Default New Fat Bob

Hello, i bought a new fat bob 2017 last year. Well now I'm motorcycle poor.
Not realizing all the things i needed.
Well now i need to do something with this very quiet bike. I need a little rumble. Nothing over done just a new rumble noise.
If i buy a Cobra slip on for it will it need to be calibrated?
If i just remove baffles.. still need calibrated??
Thank you for your opionons

EPA compliant Harleys are running extremely lean to begin with, leaning them out a little more with slip ons just makes things worse. I bought a 2017 FXDF with Vance and Hines slip-ons and it ran badly with a HD stage 1 download! Very weak and stumbling off idle until around 2,500 rpm. I guess the V&H slip-ons flow more air than the Screamin' Eagle ones. I just fitted a FuelPak and can't believe the difference. The drivability is much improved. It pulls strong now throughout the power band.
Enjoy your new motorcycle!

If a stage 1 is done (air filter and exhaust) then a re-tune is strongly encouraged. If a HD shop does the re-tune they are obligated to get the bike back into EPA compliance. If adding slip-ons I don't see a need for a re-tune, find a good baffled muffler. If you plan on doing an air filter later and installing a tuner (i.e. FP3) try to keep everything within the V&H realm. One more thing, be cautious about putting a tuner on your bike and going to the dealer for any scheduled work while under warranty. Does null and void mean anything, they'll try to do that.

with just a slip on and no other changes a tuner is not necessary, if you change to a high flow air cleaner then you need to tune it. I've put 70,000 miles on 2 103 street glides with just muffler changes, no issues what so ever. That being said even a bone stock bike can benefit from a good tune....

I should add 20,000 miles on my 13 super glide with just slip ons. no issues with it either although for a short period it had xied's on it,but I took them off after a few thousand miles.
