I have an 2012 Fat Bob. Love the bike but has a higher center of gravity then my old bike and a new Fat Boy I just rode. Is it possible to lower the bike? I found a lowering kit for a fatbob on the internet and was wondering has anyone done this and any negative outcomes. Thanks
If you are going to lower the bike you should use shorter shocks, a fork spring kit, and a shorter kick stand. With a lowering block kit your suspension in the back gets pretty stiff, it doesn't perform well, and the trail is altered. Also, just lowering the rear doesn't change the seat height much. I think the Fat Bob can be lowered at the rear about 1.5" which only lowers the seat about an .8". If you get an 11" shock, a fork spring kit to lower the front 1", and a 1" shorter kick stand you will lower the seat a full inch, get better handling, and better suspension response.
Too many downsides to lowering the bike just to get a lower center of gravity. I think you just need time to get used to it, and if it has handling characteristics you can't tolerate you can always improve the suspension.
The fat bob comes with 12” shocks as stock, that is pretty low already. If it’s not an inseam issue then it’s a mental block you have with the bike, I would just learn to love it the height it is...those stock rears are actually very good for a stock one....
Your problem my be seat related. I tried out a Sundowner touring seat on my fat bob for a day & hated it & the bike. I felt like i was sitting on top of the bike. My feet could barely touch the ground in some situations.
You might want to try a lower seat that puts you more into the bike. I'm short & that worked for me. Try a badlander or bare bones seat. You should be able to rest both feet on the ground with a bent knee while sitting on the bike. That's want worked for me. Feels like a different bike the lower you sit. i feel like i have more control went riding.
Lowering the suspension may cause scraping problems & an empty wallet.

I had the same hatred. I really tried to like it bu5 couldnt. Wen5 back to stock seat and stayed there
There are tens of thousands of Harley's lowered and I'm riding one of them without problems. I can lean till my heels are dragging while on the pegs before anything scraps. I know it's not for everyone but as a bar hopper it suits me fine.
