Just picked up a '16 FXDLS with 2k miles on it that is bone stock! I am super stoked to build it up but had a question first. My bike before this that is currently sharing the garage is a '14 FXDF. I have pulled most of the easy swappable things like foot pegs and 3" riser extensions but my big question is about an exhaust swap. The FXDF has a D&D fat cat and the FXDLS has stock exhaust. I know I need to mod the foot brake for the FXDLS to work with the Fat Cat but will the FXDF crap the bed with stock exhaust off the FXDLS? I have been talking to D&D about swapping baffles and everything else but no one can tell me how the Fat bob will ride with the FXDLS exhaust on it.
TLDR-- Can you put stock exhaust from a '16 FXDLS on a '14 FXDF?
They should be all interchangeable...I believe most are 2006-2017....the stock head pipe is actually pretty decent on the low rider, I would switch to a decent aftermarket slip on and go from there....only bike that low rider exhaust will not fit is the FLD with the floorboards....ask me how I know...lol

Haha anything can fit with enough money I'm wondering more about how the fatbob will run with the fxdls pipes? Should I be worried or just slap em on there and go?
As of right now nothing on either. Was thinking a power commander for the fxdls. Fxdf should be gone soon(fingers crossed), selling for $6500 with 22k on it just so I don't have double payments.
Have a look at the power vision from fuel moto....great tuner and if you go the FM lifetime of free updates and maps...
I was looking at those but they're so pricey! What's the deal with people selling them for $200+ used on ebay when you need to buy a $200 license for your own bike making it more expensive than buying one new?

Because people either don't realize you need the license, or are just too stupid and don't shop around. Go with the Power Vision from Fuel Moto, I'm using that and the Target Tune add-on and I'm very pleased with the results. You could also use the Fuel Pack by Vance and Hines if you're looking for a more "plug and play" product.
