Now, how bad do you wanna skin that cat!

Your set-up is clean. If I remember correctly, you have your coil mounted underneath the tank, correct? No problems with the coil getting too hot in hot weather, etc?

Side note: Did you feel any difference with the aluminum swingarm, handling wise?

If I’m wrong, when please correct me.

Peace.

I didn’t bash anyone. I simply stated that I did not want to pay x amount of money for something I could do my self for less. I mentioned no names, you’re the one that brought up DK. Didn’t realize that was a touchy subject for some.

Thank you!

Negative on mount under the tank, that would not be what I would consider a DIY. I saw where someone put the coil under the tank on a sportster but that would be a feat on a Dyna without actually modding the tank itself.
My coil sits comfortably in that little space between the battery box and the electrical caddy, right under the seat.

Now OP mentioned about not wanting to solder and I'm thinking OP doesn't really want to have to cut the four coil wires on the harness (I did in my application before I realized what I wish I had done) so here's the easy solution that I wish I would have but mine works perfectly so no big deal in the end.

1) https://namzcustomcycleproducts.com/...2066-06a-conn/
2) https://namzcustomcycleproducts.com/...6a-mates-conn/

If one doesn't know how to solder than take it to someone who can or watch a Youtube video and master the art in 10 seconds and solder these two parts together once you have cut them to the length you want them to be wherever you mount the coil.

I used this set of wires and had to order a pair of 90 degree coil boots for the coil end.
3) https://www.jpcycles.com/product/103...&totalResult=1

There is a little magic involved beyond the parts to make everything fit, i.e., my coil is OEM but it is no longer stock Little things like that, nothing to it. This gives you a chance to route that garble of wires that clutters the area behind the rear cylinder and under the seat and the caddy and what not.

Swingarm: I lost 15lbs with this swingarm, over 15lbs from lead to Lithium battery, and I'll have to weigh the cowbell horn but it's weight is gone too since it got relocated to a drawer in my tool box in my garage.

Cheers!

Those are the connectors I ended up finding last night and ordering. Got the part numbers and all from drag specialties. Thanks!

I read post like this and just laugh. Ya wanna change **** on yer bike but want it on the cheap side. Figure it out for yourself and do it. It may take a few tries to get it right, but the bottom line is YOU did it. Here's a clue for ya . . . . if ya gotta "Google it" maybe leave it alone. Most likely you next post will be . . Help Me, Help Me, I did this to my bike and it won't start.

I just think it's comical when someone posts a DIY,but it's obvious that he can't 'do it himself" lmao!

Too late, but I'd say just cut and splice. Faster, cheaper, & cleaner.

So I didn’t get around to posting the update last weekend. But here it is.. also didn’t realize there was so much hate on this forum. It’s ok if you don’t think I can do it or if you’re mad because I didn’t want to buy someone’s product because I felt it was over priced. At the end of the day imma do what I want. So here’s the results. Enjoy.

And i did order the plug wires from DK, I have no problem with the company.

Got some replacement bolts for the original location as well to cover the brass fittings.

Edit: I used a chop saw blade to make my bracket.. figured it would be plenty sturdy haha
