Default Added Slip-ons myself... void warranty?

Hey gang,

So, after only 2 weeks owning the bike, picked up some V&H slip-ons online and put 'em on... Love 'em.... BUT... question is, when I go to do my 1000 mile service, do you think I'm gonna be hassled for messing with the bike, and possibly voiding the warranty with "after-market" parts?

Good thing I saved the stock ones!

By law, they are not allowed to void your warranty unless there is a problem and they can prove your add-ons, aftermarket or OEM, caused the problem. It is covered under the Magnuson-Moss Act. Most folks don't know this, and sadly most dealerships don't know this either. So, you should be fine. If they hassle you just educate them.

Think ECU's (Thundermax and the like) would be covered under the Magnuson-Moss Act?

I went one further. I change out the complete eshaust for the Big Shot Staggered. As stated before they would have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the failure then they would not be obligated to cover the part. PS I only had 300 miles on it when I switched the pipes.

No. Don't sweat it.

Had Cycleshacks on my bike when they did my 1k and no word about it.

They have to prove your mods did the damage. Not an easy task for them.

I bought my new bike three weeks ago and i asked the dealer and was informed it was OK. I would contact your dealer and see what they inform you.
