Default Shocks for 2011 Street Bob?

Need a rear shock upgrade and keep stock 12”, solo rider, 185lbs. I’ve got $500 bucks to spend. What do you think or recommend.

Either spend 300 or 800. 500 is a shock that's okay but not huge differences from an entry lvl shock. Your better off spending a tad less or more. My 2 cents. Other will have different opinions of course.

If your lucky , hunt around for a set of non djustable Ohlins. U may be able to score a set just a tad over 500.

I have been researching non stop for a couple of weeks myself for suspension upgrades. I have read so many forum posts. I think bigbadpoppa is correct. I would save $200 more and get a top non adjustable shock, the Ohlins or Legend Revo. I opted for the Revo A with the front Axeo as well. Good luck. Most experienced riders say that suspension is the best upgrade you can do for your bike so you may want to wait until you can put that $700 range shock.

Thanks I appreciate the replies on this, why the non adjustable shocks? I’m kinda confused on this shock research, adjustable, non adjustable, Legacy, Ohlins, what about Progressive?

Non adjustable based on your price point. Best bag for the buck in your price bracket.

The adjustable shocks are $900 plus. The non adjustable just below these are essentially the same shock set for the average riding situations. If you don’t have a need to adjust the shocks for different situations, many have suggested that the $700ish shock by Öhlins and Legend are great.

What kind of ride do you want?

I spent more on my front than rear! Progressive front heavy, no dive at all stiff, rear I went with drag speciality, and for a shock under 150 night and day ride from the factory shocks.
Would more expensive shocks on the rear ride better? Maybe but it all starts up front for me.
