Hi. I had a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with.
After hitting some brutal roads here in Jersey, I noticed a knocking sound when going over bumps/pot holes. The noise started happening more and more. Before my ride home tonight, I started looking for something loose. I found something that was zipped tied to the frame by the oil filter. The zip ties were very loose and the part was very loose. I looked all over google but couldn't find too much information on the part.
Please see the pictures. I circled the part with red. The part looks like it has a mount of some sort, but can't figure out where it goes. Can anyone tell me what this is? Does it mount somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There are 2 wires coming off this thing. One looks to be grounded to the front motor mount on the bottom and the other goes into a braided wiring sheathing. The sheathing looks to go to the controls.
There really are no "add-ons" with the bike except the dual air horn (also shown in the picture). In that picture, you can see the part I am talking about behind the forward controls. Could the wire going in to the controls be for the horn?
Again, I appreciate any help with this. I need to figure out what it is and how to secure it. As you can probably tell, I am new to Motorcycles.
I fabricated custom brackets to neatly and securely mount a Denali air horn and remote compressor. The horn trumpet is mounted at the top of the frame tubes using a custom bracket at the factory horn mount pad. The compressor is tucked between the frame tubes down just below the trumpet low, mounted using a custom bracket that also mounts at factory horn mount pad. Both the trumpet and compressor are set in so there is 100% + plus clearance to the fender even at maximum fork travel. That was a critical requirement when I was taking measurements. I have the CNC drawings for the brackets if anyone is interested, just PM me
