Hi. I'm looking at buying an 07 Lowrider but I haveread on the forumsthere are a lot of 07's with transmission problems in the form of noise around 5th gear. I haven't seen many Dyna posts on that problem though. Is that mainly with the touring bikes?Should Inot worry and buy the lowrider or should I wait to see what happens with the 08's. It is the HD low financing, dealer discounting, and the "I want it now" verse the possible tranny problem that is my delima. I really want a Dyna but I don't want an expensive lemon. I know that heat and lean engine I can fix with an intake, exhaust, and probably a SERT but the tranny is differant story. What is the real scoop? Thanks.
No problems with my '06 Low Rider. I use Royal Purple Synthetics in all three holes. First gear has a distinct whine when downshifting from speed but I suppose thats normal.
Right before I took the SG in for the 5000 mile service, I noticed a whine in 1st and 2nd gear, and in neutral, the thing really sounded off when the clutch was released. The service manager at the dealer told me that there has been an issue with the tranny main shaft bearings and races. Turned out he was right. Fortunately, the repair was under warranty, costing me nothing. I feel for the guys who put fewer miles on their bikes and then have this problem after the two year warranty expires.
9500 miles and no problems yet. I haven't heard any unusual noises but, the only thingI can compare it to is new. I have no other experience with a six speed and haven't ridden with another six speed yet.
