FXR -87 Mounting Speedo
I removed the plastic center console on my -87 FXR to repaint it due to the old paint being all cracked.
When I removed it I noticed that multiple things were wrong under there.
1. Apparently the only thing holding the speedo to the plastic console were superglue and the cables behind it.
2. Also there were alot of stuff missing that is supposed to be under there for proper mounting of the speedo.
3. The console didn't have a hole for the trip meter ****.
I called my local Harley dealer to purchase the mounting hardware for the speedometer since that was all missing, only to find out that most of it isn't available to buy anymore through HD.
What options do I have to make this a somewhat clean installation after I have painted the center console?
I would really like to avoid having to superglue the speedo back.
On the picture below the only parts that were on the bike is the speedo (part 6/19) and the wiring (lights and speedometer cable).
