Hey all. I've been a member here for a long time, mostly in the Touring section as until last year I had a 2009 Ultra Classic. I just got home with my new to me 2008 Dyna Super Glide Custom. I've wanted one for a long time, and this one popped up for sale. 13,500 miles. Paid $5,800. Its an original owner bike, all stock except for VH pipes, and looks like Stage One was done. I'd like to get quieter pipes, and probably bring the bars back a little. I'll get some miles on it and see. Here is a quick shot of it

Nice, clean looking bike for a great price! Good job! I love my FXDC, and hope you do too! How old are the tires?
Not sure on the tire age. The owner said the front was new, and they both look fine (no cracks etc.) But I'll get it on the lift and really dig into it this weekend.
I'm thrilled to have a Harley back in the garage. My BMW K1600GTL is an amazing bike, perfect for the long, multi day trips I take, but I think the Dyna will be a lot of fun
Thanks for that link, I was going to look that info up.
Right now the bike is so new I can't comment on the handling. I've only ridden it to the gas station and back, about 2 miles. I had my Ultra for 9 years and 90k miles, and had it's feel down to a science. I'll need 500 miles on this to get a good feel, but the 2 miles I road felt amazing.
Really nice, clean bike. It's hard to say with pictures from about this far away, but is it that nice up close too? Looks to be in very good condition from here. Looking forward to seeing more pics of it. Just noticed you don't live in the middle of an ocean, that might explain why it's not at all corroded, heh.
I'm starting to really like the look of the plain aluminum twin cams, and this one looks great especially with all the chrome covers on it. The black looks pretty good new, but it starts to fade and just doesn't look that good after a while it seems. The difference between my brand new primary cover and the rest of the cases is noticable.
Here's your parts manual in case you didn't know these were available: LINK HERE
You can get the owner's manual there too.
Not sure on the tire age. The owner said the front was new, ...
Tires have date codes on them. Look for "DOT" then one or two sets of numbers and letters, then a 4 digit code, like "1215" (12th week of 2015). Anything over 3 years old is suspect, anything over 5 years is risky. When I picked up my LR it had the original 10 year old tire on the front. It failed on the trailer on the way home.

Yes, it is that clean up close..it is pretty much like new. It's actually amazing how clean it is...of course it only has 13k miles. The guy's house was spotless too, as was his car. I wasn't really that find of the grey motor, I really had my mind set on a wrinkle black, but once I saw it I was fine with it. For the money and condition, I couldn't pass it up.
That's an exciting buy then, for sure. Maybe it's just because out here in this ocean air everything gets eaten alive very quickly, but I really love seeing older vehicles that are still in good shape. You never see any 90s cars on the road here at all hardly, for instance. There's just nothing that's all that old in general circulation other than people's toys and projects.
