I give up
I've tried every kind of windshield combination imaginable. Bags under the headlight, bags in the base of the shield, mirrors under the bars, different add on baffles, on and on, and cannot come up with any tolerable combination to keep the buffeting to a point where I can even see where I'm going.
The good news is, I'm far enough along in the healing process to where I can now stand couple hundred mile days without one, without being too terribly beat up, so I'm back to enjoying clean wind blast at least on the short trip days. Pretty bad when it's quieter without a windshield than it is with one.

Hey Psycho. Good thing is that you are riding again. Have you looking into the Jacks Flaps Aerovest? I have heard from others that it makes a huge difference. I also have heard that a tank lift will help. I have the 2", but I can't comment as I don't ride with a shield. Good luck man, and don't get too frustrated.
Psycho
Glad to hear your takin short trips again, Hope the healing continues on a speedy pace..........
Sorry for your frustration on windshields, I know how annoying it can be. I lucked out with my combo of things I quess. I get no buffeting unless there is a good side wind.. I've been wanting to take mine off, as I have no long distance plans for a while... However its been raining at least every other day since the 1st of June here in Houston. Hate getting caught in the rain without a windshield.......... Like to see your new ride..........

Jackyl, you are a *****. An ambulance chasing attorney would spit on you.
Ah,what the hell, maybe it would work,or maybe a tank lift, not that you would sell one.
Good Luck
Tom

Psycho,
I hope I don't derail your thread, but what happened?? I've been meaning to ask what happened to your sled ever since I joined here.
Glad you are riding again (though up till now I didn't know that you hadn't been)

Weasleteats, I was impacted from the rear by a high speed drunk driver on april 18th, here's the original thread to tell you more. If you scroll down that thread 'bout half a page, there will be some links to pictures.

Ronn, thanks for the kind words. As far as the short trips, actually, I've got about 4,000 miles on the new scoot already in two months, including one trip from here in tennessee, clear up to maine and back. What I meant by short trips was, that I am now getting strong enough to stand them without the windshield. I'd still like something workable for long trips, and I had things worked out pretty well on the old superglide, however, the geometry of the wide glide seems to create considerably more turbulence, and nothing that worked on the old one seems to get the job done on this one.
The new wide glide:
