im going to put a 12" recurve Clearview on my bike. i got the 3 piece windshield bags on it and its always bugged me how they show thru and rub against the inner shield. i was thinking of having thatbottom 3"of the shield that meets thefairing tinted dark black to hide the bags.
what you are looking for is the memphis shade kind of look. To have the bottom part of the windshield tinted - they will use film - unless it is done at the time of manufacture - film will work fine but it will rub and look crappy after a year or so - then you can redo it again. You should be able to find a tint place that would do it(put the film on) for you for about 25 - 35 bucks.....good luck.
You could join the Patriot Guard Riders and get one of their windshield banners to put there instead of film. Then you get to support our troops and ride.
BTW, this does not mean either I support the war or not, etc. I support our troops and that is the bottom line!.
The bags can be a pita. You can bend the metal mount on them to get them away from the shield but it will rattle like crazy. That is a good idea to use tint. I just don't worry about it. I will replace the shield in time any way.
sounds like a good idea to me..my thinkin is that it will look pretty good...i myself have been thinkin of gettin those windshield bags and will tint the lower part on the shield...but never had them in my hands to look at them...soooooo heres a thought....what about those small self sticking felt pads?..would something like that help to keep the bags from rubbing the shield?...or maybe to dampin the vibes??
