??? Autos have had vacuum advance (and centrifugal advance) since before I was born... (And that was a long time ago!) Maybe if you're running a magneto...

Will this 2004-2013 Sporty lower fork clamp work on an 05 FXR? Both 39mm, and this one is only $97 as opposed to several hundred for an aftermarket FXR clamp.

What do you mean "05 FXR" ? ... did you mean to say 05 FXD?

The Sporty should work (YMMV), but you'll lose the Fork Lock feature ... Dynas use a different Stem


Why can't you sand/file your broken stop flat, then drill/tap for a SHCS (socket head cap screw). The head (plus possibly a stand-off) will become the Stop ... it's done all the time

I did mean FXD, not sure why I was thinking FXR.

I will look into modifying the fork clamp with a screw stop. Mine is broken below flush so it will have to be built up with weld material, but that shouldn't be a problem. Sure, it's cast aluminum which tends to weld poorly, but we'll make it work.

Don't forget if you don't heat treat after welding the casting will be very soft.

Instead of building it up, maybe you could counter-bore it instead, and use a nut or spacer under the head of the bolt..
