HD manual recommends using propane torch (unlit). So you can use that. People use carb cleaner, WD40, brake cleaner and all kinds of stuff to detect leaks. I just gave you the safest chemicals. All you're doing is seeing if the leak will suck the spray inside. If you want to find something else, feel free.
What you need to do, besides getting a service manual, is to spend some time and do some research online. Plenty of posts, forums and YouTube to look at.
so i checked IAC around the flap, it was dirty but I clened it with paper towel...so nothing permanent sticking there....
also checked speed seonsor if there are any filings....nothing.....
removed power commander 5 and run it without, same stuttering...nothing changed....so PC5 is not the culprit
I guess it could be intake manifold leaks?????
I also cleaned air filter.....

I had a stuttering issue years ago and I hosed off the IAC and everything else in the TB with WD40 and that solved the issue. Made the exhaust smell like burning WD40 for a few minutes. It would also be worth it to remove the CPS (crank position sensor) and wipe that off. Not likely the culprit, but it's an easy 5 minute job.
There's also a known issue with the in tank fuel line rubbing against the inside of the tank wearing small hole(s) in the line causing low fuel pressure. I had this issue too. But I thought by 2014, they (HD) fixed that, but maybe not. Only way to find out is to test the fuel pressure or remove the fuel pump assembly and inspect the lines. Look for flat spots on the corrugated plastic line that goes from the pump to the regulator.
