Good evening yall, On my way to work today my bike (2017 dyna street bob) stalled out today. I got maybe a block away when the bike started jerking/sputtering on second gear so I pulled the clutch and layed off the gas. The bike seemed to come back to life. went another block and started jerking again but the oil light came on and stalled. The throttle was lagging when trying to rev it. Circled back home and the same thing would happened about 4 or 5 time. The last time it stalled all electrical was lost, had to turn off the cutoff switch and the ignition switch on the tank to get power back. Don't know if that was related to how many times I started her back up, so maybe the battery could've been low? Oil was changed about 300 miles ago and hasn't given me any problems until now. Garage floor is completely oil free, so no oil leaks. Checked the fault codes, has p1632 on ECM, U0100 on BCM and U0100 on speedo. Oil light is on and bike will no longer start. Any and all input is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
No much help, however P1632 is an "ECM Mileage configured to insturment mileage" and U100 is "Lost Communication with ECM"
I would check battery and connections. Verify charging system is working and water in connections to ECM.
After that, get a FSM and read.
sorry, I cannot add more.
I am having almost the exact same issue. I was having occasional issues with power cut out while riding. The power loss would only be for a second, and the speedo would bounce down to zero and back up to speed. Last week while stopped at a red light, I lost all power lights on dash and everything. After turning the ignition on and off a few times the power came back. This happened twice.
I had pretty much chocked all my issues to battery connection issues, since upon inspection there were sign is blackening. I replaced the battery hardware and filed the battery terminals clean. Once I got everything reinstalled I had full power, but not the engine will not turn over. The starter turn strong, but it wont start. Pulled the plugs and they look clean. The only code I pulled was P1632.
Dis you ever resolve your issues. If so, please let me know what your fix was.
You say you cleaned the battery terminals. Just as important are the connections at the other end, especially the ground cable. What you experienced happened to me and it sounds like the same thing. Have you had your battery load tested?
Yes, I checked and cleaned the connections at the battery, main ground post and positive connection. At the starter. I just replaced the speed sensor, put every thing back together and the bike fired right up. Not sure if that was the actual problem, but I guess time will tell. If not, I fear I may have an issue with my speedometer. I do occasionally see water vapor accumulate inside of it
Any update to the solution? I have experienced the same problem here and there. It happens so randomly that it's hard to chase down the issue. I've sprayed the IAC clean, have a new VSS and ignition switch on order.
