Go through your credit card company and dispute the restocking fee based on the claim of in stock that morphed into "2-12 weeks." Clearly you canceled in plenty of time for them to avoid getting stuck with the parts.
The sad thing is it's not just Surdyke. Something happened around the beginning of May that put a halt to a lot of Harley Parts orders. Dealers near me say they have a lot of orders in "transfer" state, orders that had plenty of stock in the warehouses suddenly showing back order or status unknown. Almost makes me comfortable that most of my bikes are old enough that Harley doesn't supply parts for them.
Very unexpected good news today. The wife told me the new seat will be here tomorrow! I decided to let the surdyke order ride and see what happened. Got an email from surdyke with a tracking number and sure enough, the seat is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Can't wait to get it on and try it out.

Here it is. Finally found the time to post a pic of it. I don't think it looks too bad. The pillion is a bit wide, but is much more comfortable for the wife. As for me, I felt like I was sitting a little higher, but got used to it very quickly. I feel more solidly attached to the bike with this seat because it's more ergonomic than the stock seat. I don't slide around at all. It also moved me forward just the slightest bit, maybe an inch, which is perfect for me. I don't get the leg/hip exhaustion from fighting to stay on the pegs. Overall, it's a very nice seat and doesn't really detract from the looks IMHO. It might look out of place on other bikes running the slimmed down look, but with my bags, it flows nicely.
