Thanks nevil! Good idea, they may have to wait until Spring though. I do agree, they still have the new tires nubs on them, so they look fine but ... that may be misleading.

I assume you're talking about the tires. Be advised, I had a 10 year old tire suffer a sidewall failure on the trailer ride back home. If it hadn't had a tube in it it would have been a blow-out.

Man don't go by the nubs, look at the side walls. If you see cracking replace.. Look in the tread grooves too.

Look at the date code. If it's over 3 years old it's suspect. More than 5, plan on replacing it. More than 10, stand back!

Thanks All for the feedback and highlighting the tire risks. On another note, I believe I solved my other problem: "It has a lot of buzzing at low to mid range RPM." Using the time proven "screwdriver as a stethoscope" while my Mrs held the throttle open, I could pinpoint the buzzing to the valve train. Withing two minutes of searching online I learned this is a very common design flaw in the rocker arm shaft bolt fit and is solved with "rocker lockers". Knowing what it is and how to fix it, makes all the difference.
