Default Low fuel light and gauge not reading
I pulled the bike out of winter hibernation today and noticed my fuel gauge isn’t reading, and I’m getting low fuel light on my 07 FXD. I checked the obvious and has a full tank.

Any ideas where to start? It was working just fine before putting it away for winter in November.

Oddly enough, my first thought is weak battery.

Battery was on the trickle all winter and has good life. It was brand new last July.

Float may be stuck. Slosh the fuel around a bit, see if that helps.

Trickle or tender, very big difference.

Any signs of rodents? May have a chewed wire.

I should clarify. It has been on a tender for the past few months. I tossed the tank around a little to see if it opened up the float (which I thought might be the issue) but no luck. I’m going to throw a multimeter on it and see if it’s the gauge itself. The fact that the light is on leads me to believe it’s still float related, but I may be wrong.

My 07 fuel gauge quit 5 years ago. Just use the Trip Odometer and set to 0 when ya fill up. After 150 miles find some gas.
