Can’t figure it out. Check Engine light comes on only at idle at stops. I soon as the revs go up to go forward, it disappears. D01 - D10 all read “clr”.
The idle might be a little rough? not really sure what’s up. Any ideas?
I've seen that once before but it wasn't on a bike. It was a car. The reason was the carb was dumping raw gas into the engine/crankcase diluting the oil. You might want to check your oil.
Checked battery and ground connections, swapped out spark plugs and tried adjusting the idle. So far it still comes on at idle. I did disconnect the regulator and it looks like a bunch of oil got into the connection. Tried cleaning it out, so I’ll do another test run to see if that fixes it.
It's still doing it, but a little less often. Raising the idle speed seemed to help. I'm wondering if it could be a sensor or something. Too bad it won't throw any codes!!
Assuming a 2000 DWG. All you are reading is speedo error codes. In order to read the ECM/ICM codes on the early bike you need to jumper a wire on the diag connector and watch the flashes of the engine light. IIRC the codes in the link are valid for the ICM (carbed bikes) except for many do not apply. It's a reduced set.
