Default Touring Brembo on 07+

I'm swapping to a 13 spoke wheel so I can run dual front brakes. In the spirit of "bigger is better" I went straight to a set of touring Brembos. I did some reading and it looks like I took on a decent project since my bike is an '07. For now I'll run a single caliper while I'm on the lookout for a set of '09+ sliders. That still leaves me with a predicament.

Mounting up the Brembo shows that it sits too close to the slider.

I bought a set of used 11.8" rotors, but when I mount up the stock caliper it sits closer to the axel. The pad still makes full contact with the rotor, but in a tighter radius than the Brembo would.

I see a few options to keep me on the road while I get more parts.
1. Buy a 11.5" rotor to use for a few months
2. Put washers between the Brembo and slider to center it on the rotor
3. Shelf the brand new tire/wheel until I can run both calipers (the last thing I want to do)

Any input on which option you would choose?

I’d shim the caliper so it sits central over the disk rotor

There’s been several long threads about why you shouldn’t do this unless you’re planning on swapping out your stock lowers.

I’ve been through this. Personally, I recommend getting radial brackets and going that route.

I just googled “Dyna Radial Brackets” and these are the first 2 that came up. There’s a lot of different options. I’ve been looking at getting the TC Bros brackets because I think they look better. I currently have the Bagger Bros on my FXDLS. If you want them cheap I’ll sell them to you so I can buy the TC version lol

I had the same issue when I installed a 21" wheel and triple clamps from a Wide Glide. To center the caliper I used stainless washers for shimming (.040" for the caliper and .090" for the rotor).
