Wait! It doesn't mate with anything? And it doesn't touch anything metal? Hell, cut it off where it splits off from the other terminal.

It's purpose is to serve as a static discharge to keep the fuel tank from building up a static charge from fuel running through plastic parts.
I know this from being an aircraft mechanic and seeing similar systems in use in aviation.

Actually, that makes sense. So, put a ring terminal on it and screw it into the plastic with a self tapping screw.

The planes I work on were made before they invented plastic, at least for fuel systems.

Yup...
Been trying to think of odd materials used in any of the fuel systems I routinely work on. Metals, rubber, cork..."Later" carb needles had neoprene tips...

Thanks for all the help. I ended up rummaging through my electrical parts container and found a spade connector that was slightly oversized and press fit it into place.
