I am a young 62 year old guy that does enjoy Cruise Control and Heated Grips, but let's face it, Road Kings are everywhere!

If they offer me a respectful trade allowance (12k-ish), I may do it!

Am I crazy?
No, actually, I am.

Only you know what will work for you, and that may not be in agreement with whatever most people want or think they need. I get the concept of "young 62" that's my age and I've got two different dynas that I ride, and have no need or desire for a touring bike. I've left my 2012 Superglide mostly stock for touring comfort. I've made my 2007 Streetbob into a bar hopper, but it's still not too bad, I rode it to Sturgis last summer with no problems and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

So what?

Buy the motorcycle based on what you want to ride, forget what anyone else rides.

When I bought my `89 FLSTC they were everywhere, I don`t see any of them now, except the one in my garage.

Love my FatGlide. (Fatbob w/Wide Glide rear fender) But I only ride locally, some mountain roads and town hopping. In Socal the next town is 5 minutes away lol. I'm 71 and love my bike for what it is, but sometimes look at baggers , SG , etc and think how comfy they must be. I would hesitate taking a long trip over 300 or 400 miles on it because of comfort and lack of storage. So you should choose what makes YOU happy, and BTW, no you aren't crazy

Crazy,

Thanks for posting the link for the other thread, that was actually a fun read! This will actually be my third Dyna, the first being an '03 Low Rider, what a fun bike that was! I rode it to Utah (from St Louis).

There truly is something different about the Dyna, so fun to ride.

Here she is, the girl that I let go many years ago.

You can easily change the seat for great comfort. The shocks look low and that can also be easily corrected. After 150 miles I want a quick break usually anyhow.

You're welcome. I was just looking at your picture and thinking that it's hard to believe that '03 was almost 20 years ago. Where did all that time go? I must be getting old haha

hd4evr2008, the guy who started that other thread is still active here. Maybe he'll stop by this thread and tell us how it's worked out.

Nice bike, good job with that. "So you should choose what makes YOU happy" That bears repeating.

THIS Dyna was fun to ride...best handling, riding and stopping BT HD I've ever been on.
At 608 lbs wet with a 111hp/117tq Headquarters 103 it was very spirited. When I turned 55 I decided to slow down a bit; been riding my Fat Bob since. Tried every version of FLH including a couple RG's with 120R motors

Your results may vary

Sharp bike, couldn't figure out why it looked so sharp at first, duh, painted frame and swingarm, sweet! And the rear tire looks different, maybe that's just me though.

Sharp!

That SB looks familiar, good looking bike! Best of luck with whatever you choose to do
