Without a whole bunch of attention, I have a wide glide, title in not clean due to a dead owner (dependents and wills I dont know but lets not chance it). No, not signed over. I dont want to jump into that whole ball of stress and legwork.
all I can come with is finding a title
not on a bike on the road. Restamp the vin after welding over the old one and grind flush. Neck replacement welding is too risky as certified welding inspector. Or buy a frame from a fire or something and toss it. Use the title.
Ive heard of the Vermont trick but never really any details that concern me. Nobody knows and nobody has ever done it thats suggested it. I cant even find a way to get the old owners info from the vin.
700 a month for car insurance. No more. I need my glide on the road bad. Going broke.
Honestly, I have to say that the amount of effort that it seems to be taking to get a title for this bike, you are better off buying a cheap Honda and just using that plate.
You'll cause more trouble for yourself by altering a title or a VIN than you will by 'accidentally' having the plate of your other bike on the Harley.
I agree with post #3. Throw a tag on it and claim oops! if pulled over. In Pa you have to try real hard to get pulled over on a motorcycle. The most the cop may do is impound it a fine and tell you to get it straightened out. you may be able to ride for years with a license plate on it.

$700/month for car insurance????? Tell me you're kidding. Have you shopped around??? Sounds way too high for FL...unless it's a Ferrari.
Shouldn't be too hard to get the executor to sign off on the title unless the estate hasn't inventoried/ been paid for the bike. That's the only signature needed. Unless the estate hasn't been opened.

It`s not that easy in most cases...
There can be a lot involved, for one thing the executor must follow the will of the deceased as far as disbursing the assets, unless of course there is only one person inheriting everything in the estate.
For example, if a will says that a guy`s family members each get an equal share, then all assets must be appraised and given a value, so that each recipient gets a share of equal value, it doesn`t happen fast, and getting all recipients to agree on who gets what can get very involved (been there done that).
Unless the bike is titled to the person you are trying to buy it from, be prepared to wait a while...
Don`t buy the bike with a promise of the title coming later after the estate is settled.
