Default Dyna Clutch install difficulties

Hey all, hoping someone can help.
I have a 95 Dyna FXDS-CONV. Just bought the Barnett extra clutch plate kit to install. I cannot get the pressure plate to seat far enough against the last fiber plate allowing me to get the circlip installed.

I measured the complete stack of fiber and steel plates. They measure at 1.28-1.29 inches. Right where they should be.

Yes, Ive removed all the old fiber/steel plates, as well as the spring plate.

Yes,I'm using a spring compression tool.
I have the spring depressed fully against the pressure plate so there is no extra room for the spring to be compressed more.

I attempted to install my old clutch pack and I'm running into the same problem.

I've cracked 2 pressure plates already thinking that I wasn't compressing the spring enough but this is not the case.

I'm at a loss for words here. I've done this job before and never ran into this problem.

Let me know if you guys have any insight

Your compressing it to much. All you need to do is compress it enough to get the snap ring in the groove

The picture is deceiving. If you look at the top left, the retaining ring is even with the groove that the circlip needs to fit in.

👍
It's been a long time since I played with a clutch like that.
