Default True chopper, help me identify the fork

I have a custom wide glide I inherited years ago, and it's always a pain to track down parts, the frame was chopped- half the frame has got some early 80's Softail, and the other has Dyna components with an early 1990's Evo motor. I have a laundry list of parts I need but I'm currently looking for the right diameter/length for the front fork, so I can replace the springs etc. I don't know the year of the fork. I assume it's a wide glide front end.

any fork rebuild kit suggestions would be appreciated as well!

Ya might wanna determine what years the brake caliper was used on. Ya find what the caliper fits and find out what forks are from.

Judging by the shape of the lower legs I would say it's from 1979-1987.

I think '87 was the last year and '79 the first of the wide glide line of bikes for a while.

However some of them had twin disc brakes up front, while yours do not.
That should narrow it down to just a few models and years.

That's as far as I can guess.
Hope someone with better knowledge will chim in and tell you more.

As far as the diameter I want to say those are 41mm fork tubes. My old 04 wide glide had similar looking triple trees, later model legs, but I'm pretty sure the tubes are 41mm diameter. Can't offer much beyond that, hope it helps.

80's wide glide, think it was 83 or 84 they started using that caliper but that could be an aftermarket, lot of those went around as I don't see the reflector boss on the legs and the caliper looks off from stock.

Lower legs been "shaved" loosing the reflectors.
Common custom trick from the days gone by, to get that clean look.

OEM:

It would help to post the vin to determine the exact year and model of the bike.. or go hear
https://www.tabperformance.com/harle...uide-s/224.htm
Yes the front end appears mix matched that looks to be early to mid 90's FL sliders with 22 1/4" tubes. The trees are Definitely Wide glide trees and go back a long ways.. The caliper is or appears to be smoothed out and painted to match the rest of the bike but still was used from 84-99.
The more I look at you pics I also see an FL jiffy stand with forward controls.. Could even be a Softail Custom but can't fully determine that unless you post a pic of the entire bike... I don't believe you have a wide glide...
One more thing your tanks don't appear to be Flatside tanks...
Could be a Frankenstein's...

I never noticed that before! The bit that you circled, It's a very unique design style. I think I found a match based on that! I also just took a tape measure to the circumference of the fork and it's looking like a 41mm. Thanks!

So the VIN has been restamped with a secretary of state VIN...the source of many of my problems and questions. The seat has what I believe to be Softail mounts on the frame ( Dyna seats don't fit) , the battery location is obviously Dyna...the front end seems wide glide. I honestly believe they chopped up 2 or 3 bikes to weld together a frame. I also, think the brakes have been smoothed out, they did it to the rear as well. What is a jiffy stand? And what are the FL sliders? As for the tanks...it's more than likely an aftermarket larger tank. It also has reverse theading on the gas caps which I can't seem to find replacements for ( left side tank is lefty-tighty/ righty/loosy)

The flat side split tanks did have the left gas cap in reverse.. I was only trying to base what I said on the pic's you posted.. A full view of the bike from the left side and right side would ne appreciated if you could please.. A jiffy stand is the kick stand.. Not sure I've ever heard of a VIN restamped and named Secretary of state.. What's that mean...?
