Do any new motorcycles come standard with decent tires?.
I drive my bike every day in the city: start, turn off, start, turn off. I don't have a plug in the garage for a battery tender, and my Dyna ate the AGMs in less than two years when due to lack of time I could not do long weekend routes
Install a lithium battery and after 1.5 years it still starts very well and very strongly.
This is how my Fat Bob starts after 5 weeks without use, alarm connected and without battery tender

😂
I work with an electrician who bought an Aprilla a few years ago. I dont remember what model it is but I know it hauls ***. Anyway, he said it was $700 to have the rear tire replaced this spring. I sure hope its a decent tire.

I did just a cursory glance and it looks like Aprilia runs Conti sport attack 2 on at least a couple of their bikes and prices run about $200/tire so nothing outrageous. Friggin Italian bike though, the high cost is all in the labor.
Speaking of Aprilias, new RSV4 1100 and Tuono Factory come with Lithium battery ($600) and $200 Pirelli Diablo rear tire.I had bad experience with 1st gen Harley Lithium battery, replaced 2 of them under warranty, still barely turned over engine and reset my clock to 0.Now I have 2nd gen HD Lithium battery in my Street Bob,awesome battery, turns over engine easy and 5 year warranty.
what? Been running a Lith-Iron ( not Ion) battery in my Dyna for a bit now, lower rate of parasitic discharge versus AGM, higher Amp hour rating than a comparable AGM battery as well. No issues at all, but I don't live in a cold climate area, eh. Each to their own, but I would not consider the HD branded Lith battery- better out there for less.
Best battery ive ever used Best battery ive ever used
Another quick follow-up. I still haven't been able to ride much but when I do I am shocked by the battery's power when I hit the starter and how fast it spins, even if it's been sitting untended for 2 weeks. I also am super stoked that I don't have to worry about it being dead when it's time to go! 100% satisfied with the decision to go Lithium. I may have to swap the battery in the wife's '22. She rides less than I do so far this year and I am TIRED of keeping that thing plugged in.
UPDATE on this one - it’s completely dead with no warning (volt meter shows 2.2 volts) i said below that I’ve been running this for a year, but in processing the warranty it’s only been 10 1/2 months. I can see why HD went to a different manufacturer. Went back to a lead battery, because none of the dealers in the area had any lithium’s in stock.
1) 2015 SG - Original HD model Lithium (small orange battery with a tray to take up the extra space). Been running this for a year. No issues. Turns the bike over faster than the OEM battery which lasted 6 years on a tender. I don’t leave the new bat on a tender. Just plug it in once a month and it tops it off in a hour or two - probably not even necessary, but I’m curious on how much the battery drains with the security system - apparently not much. This battery was run on a Trike for the first 6 months, and has a total of 21,000 miles on it.
I’ll see what happens in a week my spare agm will be ready. Hell it’s prolly ready now. But my lean has increased towards the lithium.
fwiw. Did anyone know that there are lithium levels monitored for schizophrenia?
well it is. It is administered and kept in check. Just like filling a tank only with humans.
