Default Throttle Cable Play Question

Hey All,

2011 Wide Glide. Installed new throttle/idle cables. Watched about a million YouTube videos on adjusting and I got that done. My issue is where the cables go into the switch housing. I know there is supposed to be enough play so they can swivel easily. Mine just seems like there is too much "slop". They wiggle quite a bit. Looking at the manual, I see the insert, but I thought that was just part of the cable. Cables are Barnett Stealth Series. Is it possible that the hole in the housing has expanded due to wear? How much play is normal and how much is too much?

Thanks in advance

Do you still have the retaining rings (3 & 4) at the top of the cables and pushed them into the lower housing far enough?

3 11271 RETAINING RING, idle control
4 11272 RETAINING RING, throttle control

Here is a pic of the Barnett cables (2 cables on left). They are exactly the same on my bike. No modifications. Completely stock.
