Hey guys, I made sure the star screw throttle lock was backed off and the throttle is still sticking a little. Especially when the handlebar is turned to the right. Anyways, I want to lube the cables but I'm not sure if I should lube from inside the throttle housing or where you adjust the cables below. The service manual doesn't go into detail on this. Thanks!
The manual should give you a throttle and idle cable adjustment procedure. Sounds like adjustment might be off. Adjust the cables and lube them from the top with a good cable lube. Also check the cables for any obvious kinks or tight spots through the whole turning radius. Also might want to lube under the throttle grip as well.
Thanks JR, still wondering where the lube goes in the cable. Do I put lube where the cables start in the throttle housing or where the adjustment section is below the housing? Thanks again
I've always lubed mine from the grip. The cable lube usually comes with a nice needle point so you can get it into the end of the cable housing without making a huge mess. Open up the switch housing and you'll see the end of the cable housing where the cables attach to the grip.
