Hey everyone, I have a 07 wideglide that surges at all speeds. The stealer said "all" of them do it at 2500-2800 rpm. I really don't think this should happen. Who's right them or me? And what can I do to remedy this? Thanks.
Sounds to me like a known issue with early build '07 models that was addressed with a software update. Bikes built from Nov'06 shipped from the factory with theupdate - but if your bike was built prior to then (check the VIN tag at the steering head), the update is available at no charge from your dealer. My '07 Low Rider (06/06 build date) had a very pronounced surge at that RPM and the software update fixed it.
I don't remember the service bulletin number but any competent HD dealer will know what you're talking about. (You can also enter your VIN at HD's website and find any outstanding service bulletins that apply to your bike.)
Definitely sounds like a lean fuel mixture surge issue. My bike did the same thing from the get go and they said it was normal as well. After doing the stage one and adding the DFOit ran sweet.

It surges in all gears. Can't really tell after 60 mph. to much wind force. I have an appointment 11:00am. at a different stealer, they told me it should not surge at all. I will post reply tomorrow afternoon.
Please keep us informed. My warranty will expire in December and I would love to get this issue resolved.
How reliable is this VIN lookup feature? When I entered my VIN, it did not notify me of the 07' Wide Glide handlebar recall. (Or I was too blind to find it).
Since I couldn't find confirmation on the website, I took the bike to the dealer after reading about the handlebar recall on HDForums, and yep -- handlebars need to be replaced -- and are on order.

I don't know how current it is but if the "torque smoothing" ECM update isn't showing up, I would assume that your bike has already been flashed.
