I went from a "Geezer Glide" down way to a Sportster 1200. I really like this Sportster, but I find that 1-2 hour rides are rough on an old man like me. I need help to move up to a Dyna. When I had my Electra Glide, I found out it was a tad too heavy for me to "dead lift". What Dyna is best for long rides with my wife? Thanks in advance.
Before I bought my 13 Road Glide Ultra, the wife and I used to tour on my 02 SuperGlide. I had a 95" kit installed, installed a EZ bracket kit for the saddle bags wind screen, removeable windscreen abackrest with a large back cushion and a Sundowner saddle. We rode from west MI to west N.Y., Rochester area, across MI, through Canada and all over NY. Since my upgrades Harley came out with a model called the Dyna Switchblade, don't know if it's still available. IMHO the SuperGlide is a very capable ride.
All dynas share the same frame and most have the same rake. Different seats, handlebars and foot controls sets individual comfort. Since you cant buy new anymore, buy the right bike and set it up for your own comfort.
I have a Switchback, the Mini Road King of Dyna's. I'm 73 and not comfortable on a Thousand Pound Motorcycle anymore. My wife has no complaints, so that's a Good Thing to!

That's the model I was thinking about, the SwitchBack.
The switchback would be the most long distance oriented model to start with. The switchback comes with a windshield, nice hard bags, and floor boards.
but any of them can be made to be comfortable for long distance riding. Its just a matter of adding some sort of fairing or windshield if youre into that, seat, suspension, and bags of some kind if you need the storage space. But like said a switchback comes with some of that.

The FXDF with bags is another alternative. I've done many miles solo; travelled lots two-up on my former FXDXT, but that's unobtanium now. Compare the specs, sit on them if you can. Lots of subtle differences, but mostly similar. I prefer the twin disc front end and the 16" wheels of my FXDF. Dyna's (Harleys in general) are easy to spend into any style you want.
