I am considering dosing a magneto and kick start swap on my 01 twin cam 88ci I looking for some advice on the topic I wanna remove the electric start and battery from the bike
Have you found the parts to do the conversion? After securing the parts, I would recommend compression releases and keeping the compression low. I have a friend who has a high compression shovelhead with dual releases, and there was a couple of times it kicked back and jacked him up.

yes I looked the parts up on JP cycle and found what I was looking for but I was curious if the lights would still work the same with out the battery our if anyone knew away around it

Not judging, its your bike and you can do whatever you want. I get the cool factor but its not very practical.
I realize I'm a bit on the old side, but if I never have to kick a bike again (except for the T150 and Thunderbolt) it won't upset me a bit. When the grid didn't crash on 1/1/2000 I moved on...
I think it would be very difficult to get a late model Harley Twin Cam to start with a kick starter. EFI requires a higher cranking speed to get things to work. It might work with a magneto, but I'm trying to think where a magneto could be driven on a Twin cam.
When I rode flat track, my old Harley WR had the magneto mounted on the front of the engine where the generator went on a Generator Shovelhead, Pan or Kuncklehead. On a 45, you could also drop a magneto into the dristributor drive on the right side of the engine.
I'm not trying to be critical, since I understand that people do like to individualize their machines.
