undersized metzlers
I don't know if this has been mentioned here already, but metzler opened a new plant in brazil, the carcasses they're using are resulting in narrow tires. There's a lengthy thread on it over at v-twin forum,(unfortunately this forum won't let me post a link, but it'sin the wheels/tires susupension forum, thread name "mis-marked metzlers")and I can tell you I got a 150 that only measured 142mm. Thought it looked narrow, but that it must have been my imagination, till I measured. Some guys are saying their 150's are measuring 140, 140's are measuring 130... no more metzlers for me.

I've got two METZELER ME880 150/80HB-16, both are 150mm.
Both are wider than the stock Dunlop 140.
Both my Met's were made in Brazil. (So was my lovely wife.)

I tried to post a link..the address got x'd out so I assume that's a no-no here. Because I think people should read this, I'll try to get around the filters and say go to v-twinforum (add .com) wheels/tire/suspension sub-forum, currently there are two threads (both currently on page two butmay move back/forward as new topics/posts are added) that discuss this..I have no complaints with the way the tires handled (nor have i heard of any), I just didn't like paying for a width of tire that I did not get.

I bought a set of Metzelers last year, mostly because of reputation, German engineering, etc. They were both marked "Made In Brasil". I was very disappointed. After installing the tires, the bike developed a bad tank slap front end wobble at about 95 mph. Very scary. I'm alsofinished with Metzelers. If I want third-world manufacturing, I'll buy Cheng Shins.
