Kinetic Structures Mount Experience
The vibes were what they should be.. A bit at 2000 but above say 2300 very low. At 2K the motor shakes at the cylinder firing rate.. Bike does pick up a small vibration at about 3500 rpm that is a higher frequency than piston firing.. Kind of feel like my CB750 (4 cylinder, solid mount) but still less. Dang I'm happy. It's better than when the bike was a 116 which is what I was hoping for..
I called Harry at Kinetics and discussed what was going on..
Harry was good at describing how his mount worked and we discussed possible areas where I might have screwed up on the install.. We came to the conclusion that my bike and the way it's built is not that compatible with his mounts.. Stock ones are fine..
Things to note.
1. The early Dynas are about 20 to 40 lbs heavier than the pre 2006 bikes.
2. My bike drives a low profile rear tire, 180x55-18.
3. Rear drive is through a 530 chain..
4. While only a 107, it's high compression and W9B cam and is a bit spunkier than the previous build of a 116 high CR and SnS 625..
5. I've got a SnS tuned flow AC that adds a few pounds to forward/side of the motor.
Thinks I noticed.
I screwed up big time on the from motor mounts when I first installed it with the bad mounts..
I probably messed up on the first and second install of the Kinetics mount. Third was good but still they weren't optimal.
Predator vibrates at 2500 not too bad at other RPMs.
The kinetics, even though they vibed a little, had a very flat vibration response over the RPM range. On a different bike, I'd bet they work well.
The main thing is that the bike no longer has any issues that I'm concerned with except for tires and service down the road. It needs a bath..
