It's easy to swap to different length ape hangers be it 12, 14, 16's because cable kits for these bars are available which include throttle cables, clutch cable, and brake line.
It's not so easy to convert to drag bars it seems.
I want to, I'd LOVE drag bars on my bike, but I'm stuck on the cables and brake line issue. Not so much the brake line, but definitely the cables.
A little more info:
The bars I want to use on my 2006 street bob are these linked below. I have them. They dont have clearance issues i have checked. I just have to put flush mount tank caps on and i'm good. I'm just completely stumped on the cables
Jump into one of the Fat Bob pages or FB groups, most of them will have guys that did bar swaps, and they come with 5 inch height bars so all their cables will work for you.
Magnum will have the single caliper brake line as the Fat Bob won't work for just that one.
I tried the magnum build your own throttle cable with the 45 degree bend it does now work well, so I ordered the cable with the 90 degree bend.
Tacked on more parts, adjusted angles of things, sat on the bike to get a better idea how it all works, feels, and how it will look. I like it!
Ordered more stuff so I can continue. I'll see if I can find something to do while I wait:
It has progressive 412 11" shocks on the rear, and the front has a progressive fork lowering kit installed where I just cut it down to taste- I estimate about 1 inch lower give or take.
I have a similar build on my bike. Mine runs the Wide Glide set up for the bars, so mine have a riser from the triple tree to the bars. I had a custom front break cable made but the rest are wide glide cables on my Street Bob. I think I have a receipt with the part numbers if that would help you but without the risers my cables may still be to long.
