Anyone picked one up yet? I'm really growing tired of the football and would love to get something not so mainstream or with a skull or eagle, etc. I was looking for a single cover to go over the cleaner (stage 1), but they're all typical. saw the color matched in the new catalog and thought a silver cleaner cover to match the silver denim might look kinda swag.
yeah, i'm looking for something different. i dont have any other skull stuff on the bike, nor do i want any. i've checked the azece site and nothing's grabbing me. that's why i was asking about the new color matched ones offered from HD. i'd hate to spend the money and wait a month for it to show up just to discover that it was ugly and a waste of money.
I bought a black color match air cleaner for my Bob, if Iwas going to do it over I wouldhave painted it myself with some wrinkle black to mach my motor. You can buy wrinkle black in a can at the dealership, besides if you don't like it you can always buy a new one like you were talking about.
I've emailed Azece about a simple cover but in the Denim Pewter color.
Good idea Atomic. Lemme ask you, is it as simple as picking up the paint and just painting it? Do you need any special equipment (sprayers) or need to cook it on? I've never painted before, so i dont know if it requires anything special.

I bought a color matched (fire red pearl) air cleaner cover for my bike and it looks great. The color really does match perfectly. I got it from Zanotti and took advantage of their discounted price.
Like porker said, sand it with some fine sand paper and after it's sanded don't get any oily finger prints on it. Sand it, wipe it down real good and paint it all in one sitting.
Just sand it and paint it.
I bought some used take off bars from my parts guy at the stealer and painted them with the HD wrinkle black. Gonna do the same with astock round cover for my A/C as soon as a I find a cheap takeoff. Paint went on the bars pretty evenly and I can't complain for a a $10 set of bars that improved my reach.
Sometimes it pays to improvise instead of searching around for a pre-made item that costs an arm and a leg.
