Help another efi engine wont turn over
Not sure where to post so...I bought a 2009 fxdl for not much, it had sat outside awhile but it ran. I had to change the fuel system, and once i had started that it snowballed into full rebuild (something ive never done) went from 96" engine to 110", ss 585 ez start cams, ss quickee pushrods ported and polished heads, new/used 50mm throttle body, tts mastertune along with wiring the hand controls, changing motor mounts, etc etc. Get it all together, I took pictures along the way, and it wont turn over, it trys to but it just stops after one rotation or so and stops. It wont turn over. I've checked for spark, it has spark, Ive pulled the plugs and started it and there is compression. I took the push rods out, and I took the lifters out to make sure the lifters/pushrod was just past the ez start cr. Didnt help. I got a new battery with 320 cca, nope. I tried jumping it from my truck, no luck.
My little pea sized brain is strained. I read through other engine wont turn over threads but didnt get anywhere.
If any of you have a suggestion please lmk, thanks

The infamous "turn over" phrase that means all things to all people. He said "it just stops after one rotation or so and stops." so I guess that means the starter motor can move the crank but that "turn over" in this case means that the engine won't fire and start? OP, good luck with it and hopefully someone smarter than me will come along with answers.

When I worked on cars, my all time favorite customer complaint was "It cranks but it won't turn over..."

Have you run a DIAGNOSTIC SCAN FOR ERRORS????? Are ALL of the electrical connections good? If it turns over with the spark plugs removed, does it turn over fast or slow? Fast is good, slow is bad. With the motor turning over without the plugs in, you can eliminate mechanical interfearance, like open valve hitting a piston. IF there are no compression releases, the OEM starter may no be up to the task of starting a higher compression motor. I did a 105" to end on my 07 with no comprssion releases and had to upgrade the starter to 2.4kw starter.

With 110 cylinder did the OP use head gaskets set up for a 4 inch bore.
Could the ground cable going to the engine case be loose..
If new lifters were used, a common mistake is to adjust the pushrods to deep and may have a valve hitting the piston..
If you pull the plugs does it spin over freely?
Have you measured the voltage at the starter motor when cranking?
With 110 cylinder did the OP use head gaskets set up for a 4 inch bore.

the heads do not have compression releases, the cams, ss 585 ez start have them built in
