Lateral flew. The Sputhe Braces are specifically engineered to cure the Harley design flaw. They control or stop the side to side engine and transmission movement while still allowing the swing arm to flex up and down. While I had my back wheel off I checked the swing arm bearing and bushings for any excessive wear eliminated any cause or wobble coming from the swing arm. While I had the bike on the lift (off the ground) I also checked the front end fall away.eliminated the front end as any cause of the wobble.

My Norton was one of the best handling bikes I owned after I replaced and shimmed the motor mounts.

Did you remove then, clean them and check clearances?

for those who has sputhe or similar stabilizers on their Dynas, has the vibrations gotten better or worse, i just bought a 2013 street bob and i have no wobble at all, even when pushed a little harder in the corners but it would be nice to have a little less wibes in and around town traffic.

I took apart or disassembled what I only thought was necessary to find a cause. I also checked the alignment according to the service manual. I did a thorough visual and static check and found no need to go further than replacing the motor mounts, rear tire and then adding the Sputhe Braces. I think everything accumulated, failing or worn motor mounts, a worn back tire and the need for braces added up to a big problem.

I didn't find any noticeable damage or broken components to either motor mount. There was some obvious dynamics going on because upon a visual inspection of the rear mount I found it to be twisted (top to bottom) off center. I probably didn't need the braces but I'll never know because I am not about to remove them to find out if I didn't need them. They are on the bike to stay because I think they are necessary or needed to stiffen up the drivetrain.

I like a steady even vibe. It is part of owning a Harley. It feels like you have something going on under you. It is the way it should be and what I am used to. If I wanted total solace and no vibe I'd never leave my Lazy Boy or I'd ride a Honda. Before I did what I did to my Wide Glide I was getting a weird harmonics (negative waves) from the right side foot peg at and above 65 MPH in 5th gear. At continuous highway speed I'd have to move my right foot because the negative waves would become uncomfortable. I am guessing the negativity or harmonic weirdness was associated with engine RPM's more than speed or a combination of both. I'll never know because the Glide doesn't have a tachometer. I felt or knew something wasn't right or askew. Since I did what I did the askew weirdness is gone. The vibe is even and steady through the entire RPM and speed range. The Glide feels right now, harmonious and connected.

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention. When I got the Glide back together and test rode it I noticed the front end seemed screwy out of alignment. Upon inspection I noticed the front wheel was crooked. Something I didn't notice before the work I performed. I loosened the front fork brace and I lightly tapped or knocked the front wheel against a pole with the handlebar into straight alignment.

Not so fast? Something else might be going on. The front end still appears skewed. Something might be out of alignment as a result of the work I've done trying to fix the Dyna WOBBLE. The front fork brace hack I attempted might not have worked. The top triple tree and handle bars seem to not be centered while riding the bike. Further investigating might be necessary.
