Anybody have any info on converting to a monoshock. I in the middle of a major change on my 98 Superglide including major frame mods and I think a monoshock will go a long way in cleaning up the looks of the back end
in three years of HD discussion board participation, I don't think I have ever come across anyone looking to change their Dyna into a monoshock.
Personally, I think the exposed suspension on a Dyna is one of the things that makes it a Dyna - it looks like a real motorcycle. Take away the suspension, and there isn't much difference between a softy and a dyna (except the counter balance, which isn't a visual item).
You're doing a nice job on the bike and since you went with chain, if it were me, I'd go with struts.
Either struts or make the rear invisibly solid.
Takes getting used to but I really enjoy a rigid frame, with suspension on the front.
If you really want a mono setup the cheapest and best will be to find a frame you like.
Will be a lot easier to swap out your frame than to create a mono system on a dyna frame.
