The bike is an (EFI) Dyna not the carbureted one. When installed I had to keep the original speedometer on while linking to the new one. After the link was ok'd the mileage on the old one new matched the new one. So, this may be an issue with the actual speedometer? I doubt that Harley would be able or willing to somehow test is since it would be out of any type of warranty.

So, this could be another lesson learned the hard way. Disconnect the battery when working with the electronics. Not willing to attempt a role back.

You switched the odometer to read kilometers. Switch it back, usually via the trip reset button.

I suspect that when the hardware changeover occurred not all the features were available at the time. The big thing was that the ECM/ICM started transmitting the speed digitally to a new speedo instead of the Speedo getting the pulses directly. That was the year Dynas got fuel injection. Big one..

No freaking way! Now I just feel like a complete idiot.

Now I just have to figure out how to set it back up.

Thank all of you for your help. I has definitely been a learning experience and without your help I would still be dumbfounded.
