Yes, the de-rake kit too has a fork stop, but it is on the other side of the lower cup. If I would use the normal kit mounted backwards the fork stop lug fill be facing backwards too and not be of any use.

Yeah, that worries me a bit too. I have found some instructions online and they basically say "make sure the cups are aligned correctly and press them into place.."
I am pretty sure I will be able to mess that up pretty badly
