Oh yea .... I asked the question andgot lots of help. Everything from putting your jiffy stand down to strapping on a big magnet do a search and I'm sure you will have lots to read
I was pretty skeptical about it... but, frustration with a few local lights set in and I finally decided to try it. I figured... screw it, its 20 bones; less than a damn t-shirt. If it works, score. If not.. fool me once. Funny thing is, I consistently get a green arrow now,at the same lights, and plenty cagers don't; a lot of newer cars don't have enough iron close enough to the road to disrupt the loop that triggers the signal.
I've seen a few different devices like it, all of which claim to do the same thing... I'm not quite sure I remember why I chose this one in particular; perhaps because Iremember seeing the box at a local shop- I respect the opinion of a few guys that work there. Either way,it has worked well enough that I haven't needed to keep looking.
No. I wait one full cycle, look both ways and twist the wick. If for some crazy reason you get pulled over and hassled by the man, take it to court. No one expects you to sit there indefinitely once you've established that your bike is not gonna trip the light...just treat it like a stop sign.
I flash my brights at the signal and this works most of the time, however I do come across those stubborn lights that this does not work on. One day I'll get that sorcerer thing...
I have no problem with those lights, although I have had to pull up next to the Honda guys to get the light to change for them. I guess my EVO has enough American Iron in it to trigger the light.
(I always stop with the jiffystand over the buried wiring).
WI has the law where if the light dosen't change you can go when it's safe to do so. Maybe some other states should look into copying ours?
