I need to get new tires and I'm trying to find something that is more sporty and performance oriented.
Living in Southern California I pretty much avoid riding in the rain unless I get caught out in it.
Id like to go to a 110/80 19 and a 170/60 17
I do NOT want to go up to a 110/90 and increase the diameter of the front
Mileage isn't a big concern
Most of what I'm seeing in this tire size seem to have lower load rating and "sport touring" tires
Shinko SR777 is a great all-arounder that grips great in the wet. It's a soft tire and you wont get the miles out of them that you would an H-D Dunlop. But they are cheap and have a sportier tread..
Michelin Road Classics
Pirelli Night Dragon
Check the sport tires section on Revzilla and see if any of the sport tires come in the sizes you need. That 19" front tire will greatly reduce the number of true sport tires available to you.
I was looking at those. The tire shop steered me away from them as they are radial and not bias ply. More specifically that they aren't weight rated for the Harley.
I don't know what to think as the tire is rated to 536 (110/80 19) and 783 (170/60 16). That seems like plenty to me.....
The shop talked me out of doing radials, they were pretty strongly against me not doing bias
Ended up going with the Metzler Cruisetec in stock sizes
They are at least a dual compound.
Rode them out to AZ from San Diego for Cave Creek bike week and I was really pleased with them.
