Default Steel work

I am going to be retrofitting a Brembo rear master onto the Dyna and have a question for you guys that know your metals. I need to construct a pretty simple bracket, it'll be an "L" shape with a long section to mount the master on (the bolt spacing is 40mm) and a shorter section that will bolt to the existing master mount that is part of the frame. My question is would 12-gauge steel be strong enough for this? Since the bracket will just be an "L", I can start with stock close to my needed dimensions and bend it with a vice and a hammer, the rest is shaping and drilling. Thoughts?

.105 sounds a little thin.

Match the thickness of the bracket on the frame. Going any thicker would be of no benefit. Bending 12 ga will be very difficult in a vice. Maybe use angle iron instead.

Here's a little more context, see below. The long end will allow the Brembo master someplace to mount to, and the short end would get bolted to the existing bracket.

I'll take a mic to the existing bracket and see what kind of thickness I'm working with. I may have to farm this out, one thing I do not have is metal working tools.

That drawing you have provided would be possible if it was made out of a piece of angle iron. The fillet in the inside corner would help immensely

What are your dimensions? I would want a piece of steel angle with a flange thickness of 1/8", then cut and shape as needed.

McMaster Carr will have multiple choices in angle stock

Home Depot has 2 x 4 fence gate brackets that are a possibility after a bit of modification
Used them to mount the aux lights shown below

Amazon has some of those ^ in stainless that will defy your best efforts to drill holes. ( been there, done that)
