2003 Dyna Starting Issue
Very simple to track down with the Factory Service manual and electrical schematic.. Maybe some one will post up a schematic.. When you push the starter button on the bars do you get power to the solenoid..
The schematic for the relay. Pin 30 is 12 volts with ignition on, 87 goes to the green wire to the "S" terminal on the starter, 85 goes to ground, and 86 goes to the handlebar start switch.
I did both but I will say I’m not too sure what I should be looking for when reading with a VOM. Gray wire has 12v, black has 0 and white/black has 0. When I test gray and white/black together it’s got 10 volts which seems weird but maybe that’s normal. I will add that I made a jumper wire from battery to starter solenoid wire (the spade with a green wire) and the bike starts up with that. So I’m leaning towards a problem with my relay and up towards the handlebars. No clicking whatsoever from the relay
After probing around for a while checking voltage and looking at the wiring diagram I found the culprit. The green wire coming from the relay to the solenoid must be bad. The black/red wire is sending 12 volts to the relay but then it stops at that point. I was hoping maybe the brand new relay I bought was just a dud but I tested it in an another bike and it worked just fine. Seems to me like the green wire is bad. I checked and I’d assume there should be 12 volts on the green wire when starter is pressed but I’m reading 0. I’m gonna wire in a new 10 gauge wire from relay to solenoid to fix the issue. Thank you all for your help
The green wire not having voltage does not necessarily mean the green wire is the fault.
The green wire will only be energized when the coil in the relay is energized (and the internal contact is made), there must be power going to pin 86, then to ground at pin 87, the ground is controlled by the TSSM.
If the TSSM is not completing the ground circuit for the relay coil, there will be no power to the green wire.

I just installed manual push button on starter as back up. You may have better luck than figuring it out what you screwed up.
I got one from Tc Bros not Amazon.
