I have drilled several sets. I drilled out a hole on the bottom of the bars between the risers for the wires to come out. I used a Dremel to egg out the hole and smooth the edges. I drilled at the ends of the bars into the dimples kind of pointing into the bars. I also used a Dremel to smooth the edges.
thanx xxx, that helps allot. I'll probably have to do a different spot for exit cuz i hope to use stock riser's on SG. bikes in shop so i cant look at it.

Did the same with my mini apes like a year ago never one problem!
built some bars and drilled them at the bottom between the riser posts and marked a spot on the bottom of the handle portion of the bar directley under where the top of the controls (flasher, run, start buttons) sit. just like above dremeled/smoothed edges. pull the wiring harness's out of the neck and mark where the terminals go in the connecters. blow a string through the bars from the top holes down to the bottom holes and tie the end to the terimnal ends of the harness and gently pull through, reinstall into the connecter. not too diffacult and it looks alot better.
